A lot depends on what kinds of activities he enjoys, but you can’t go far wrong with a pair of boys’ shoes for school, a pair for play and a pair for best. If he plays any specific sports such as football you’ll also want him to get appropriate footwear for that.

Some schools will require that boys’ shoes be black. Uniform guidelines vary, but you can never go far wrong with a pair of black or dark brown shoes.

Up to the age of about 16, boys tend to go up a size each year, but this may vary depending on how fast he’s growing.
