Mix fitness with friends, for the fun of it and get inspired outdoors. Dancer and movement coach Meagan Kong shows us how in a bootcamp with two of her friends in their hometown LA.
WHEN SPRING ARRIVES HOW DOES YOUR WORKOUT CHANGE?
There is a whole change of energy, working out becomes an activity you can do with your friends, you can go running outside, do a bootcamp and no-equipment training in the park, and play with everything around you. It’s really a revamp of your approach.
WHY SHOULD WOMEN DO GROUP BOOTCAMP WORKOUTS?
I’m a major group workout fan. There’s nothing like feeding off the energy of the person next to you, using each other as motivation and competition at the same time and if you’re outdoors, you really can’t beat that vibe.
Fitness is my lifestyle and everyone in my life seems to find fitness a priority, so we go on workout dates. Say we’re going to a happy hour, we’ll do a hike or bootcamp first, then go in our workout clothes.
It is now. I figured out how to eat healthy six years ago, after not including what I ate in my fitness plan and all kinds of fad diets. Now I live consistently fit. What I eat massively affects my performance and energy.
WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO STAY INSPIRED?
As a dancer I’ve been active all my life, I know how to move, but I constantly have my ears, eyes and heart open, ready to absorb new knowledge and use it for strength. It’s important to stay open to learn - inspiration can come from anyone, anywhere and anything.Find endless motivation throughout 2019, follow Meagan Kong @meagankong and other inspiring women @adidaswomen.
